(Take this review with a grain of salt.) There's a significant jump in the second chapter, because the moment you reach it, you're going to have to grind which, technically is what Swordash is about. While I did grab this game to play some hack and slashing, the challenge is there. I would have preferred to give players a bit more grace with these chapters, maybe extend them slowly and give more guidance with improving (refining, upgrading, opening crates, etc.) instead of exponentially growing.

Overall it's a good game, pretty unique. I thought it'd be slop but I was wrong, i like the art direction and combat system. One problem is the English translation, it can mess up your gameplay and immersion. The game is lacking in the story department but it makes up for it with its replayability (it doesn't feel repetitive). I haven't encountered any massive issues yet since I've been playing for less than a day.

This game is amazing all throughout. For the people that are having trouble catching up to the harder levels and complaining about not being beginner friendly, that's what the game is all about. It is similar to a FromSoft game but a 2D hack and slash style instead. Hell, I played Vector when I was a child and that was not beginner friendly at all. But if you understand the game more, you'll feel more overpowered than the enemies themselves. Hell, I felt like Vergil when playing this game. 😂
