Now it just doesn't work at all. Every conversation you click on results in a crash to the OS. 2 years later. The app half functions. if you minimize the app to use another you MUST close it first otherwise it won't load. Just constant black screen. it's an absolute headache. it'll never get better.

Decent alternative for the original Steam chat, but right now, it's bad because you can't send images at all, you can put them in the chat, but if it's not a link, and you send it, nothing happens, the image just straight up disappears. Update: it's very laggy and slows down to less than 1 frame per minute

Constantly freezes mid-message, often requiring me to restart the app and type it all over again. Also no need to split the chat from the main app. What I will say is that it often seems a lot better at embedding images/gifs and has a lot better message history than the desktop client. Edit: somehow got forced into the new main steam app even after removing myself from beta, it's still terrible. Frequently have to back out of chats to manually refresh and receive messages.
